Emergence and growth

The company's founder, Renaat Verbrugge, a civilian mining engineer, learned firsthand the behavior of soil masses and underground constructions in the former coal mines of Limburg.

After its closure, the company "REMO BVBA" was founded in 1993, originally operating only as an engineering office. The expertise acquired earlier was put to good use for specific problem cases involving poor soils, such as in the case of replenishment, compressible massifs, excavations along roads and/or existing buildings.
Very quickly, the study activity was expanded to include the company's own contracting, partly due to Remo's patented system of foundations for house construction and low-rise apartments up to 3 to 4 storeys on low load-bearing substrates.

In 2003, Eddy Vanackere was hired as the first employee of Remo BVBA. In the process, he learned the trade from Renaat, who quickly proved to be a perfect tutor.

After hard work and slogging in the mud, Eddy earned his place as co-manager in 2013, allowing Renaat to slow down. Eddy will continue the mindset of Remo, and to this day still cooperates in the shipyards.
